What is a Solar Power Plant? A Solar PV Power plant is a concept of generating electricity from the sun and converting it to the AC energy that we use in our daily lives. PV modules are installed on fixed metallic support structures arranged in long rows, adequately spaced themselves, facing south (in the Northern Hemisphere) with an appropriate tilt, or deployed on tracking devices to follow the sun. PV modules are electrically connected together in series and parallel and then connected by DC cabling to the centralized inverters which convert DC power into AC power. String Inverters are connected together, on AC side, to the plant Medium Voltage network, and then the produced energy is delivered to the HV or EHV Grid by means of one or more step-up transformers. The picture below shows a simple schematic of a solar PV Power plant:

Microsol and Power Plants Microsol seeks to actively pursue the opportunities in the grid connected power plants and position itself as a turnkey solutions provider. It has collaborative arrangements with a leading European firm specializing in design and construction of solar farms as well as tracker /mounting structures technology. To diversify it’s geographical and customer base, Microsol has set up subsidiaries in Australia and India, as also setting up a subsidiary in Europe. Our European partners are a reputed and government certified Engineering and Design Company based out of Germany. S&W is a professional design and engineering consulting organisation specialising in project planning, site selection and construction of solar PV power plants. S&W works closely with some of the major players in EPC and construction segments of the solar PV power plants segment, having implemented several MWp scale projects across Europe. Together with the high efficiency modules manufactured by Microsol and the innovative engineering solutions of S&W we believe that our proposition will bring the ‘best value’ input to the SPD participating in the solar power plants segment in India.
